Disguises for the party spy in you
September 18th, 2008 Posted in randomJulie and I loves to attend parties where we can dress up a little. By dressing-up, we don’t mean smoking and tie, long cocktail dresses and feeling like we are celebrities (we’re not…at all…). By dress-up, we mean it in the Halloween/Fastelavn dress-up sense – cheap-movie-with-no-budget style! We’ve had some great parties playing dress-up and I would like to show 3 of the outfits I wore, so you may have some inspiration to your next party and talk about even that caused me to be dressed up the way I did. OR to make you invite me and Julie to your next dress-up party!
New Years Party
Julie and I hosted an New Years party, where people could either come as if it was a Galla night (to allow people who didn’t want to dress up to still come, but maybe just inching the quality of their attire a bit up) or as a character from a movie. I hope it is pretty obvious to see form the picture who I was, but in the unlikely event it is not, it‘s Austin Powers. Julie was dressed as Felicity Shagwell. The suits was bought for the occasion online and it all worked pretty well we think! The party was the best New Years party I have ever attended and having so many friends over in our apartment to share New Years with was fantastic! Best New Years to date!
80s Birthday Party
When we were invited by one of Julies friend to an 80s themed birthday party we immediately started to research how to be as 80s as possible. We went all across the greater Copenhagen area to find bits and pieces to put together our outfits. From drama club shops to second hand stores was searched through piece by piece and I ended up getting a Mullet wig (<= business in the front, party in the back!!! Helllooooooo 80s hair fashion), Levi’s pants that were really tight, some shorts underneath (nice and high cut) that people mistakenly took as an underpants version of speedo’s (dammit). But very nice outfit that I enjoy wearing around the house…. :X
Rømø Beard Night
Rømø Beard Night wasn’t actually a dress up party. We were at the Danish Island, Rømø for an extended weekend, all 7 of us. Props to Jesper for the securing the housing at this family’s Summer House. We had such as good time. Morten, my good friend, had had the foresight to bring lots of mustaches to the house – enough for everyone, even the ladies. So actually this isn’t a dress-up, but just me, with a beard…all the yellow I could find really. It could work as a dress-up party. Wear-a-color-party anyone? No? Beard Night party then?
….Keep it off the hook…
