Some of you my have wondered where the “my gymniee” link on the right side of this blog directs you to (most of you, however, will be thinking “what link now?” right now, as you have never let your eyes pass the first 3 lines of any of the posts I have written – which means you’ll stop now) .

…Fewer will have clicked on the “Fitness” page on the top menu on to view my fitness page and the half-finished, half-hearted attempt to write something that was supposed to highlight the many fitness complishments I was to have completed.

…Fewer still may have pressed either and found out that gyminee.com is the website I used to track my fitnessĀ  “accomplishments”. I’m the first to admit that my accomplishments have been lacking as of late (where late = forever), but I learn from history and past experiences!.

My past experiences tell me that every time I get a new fitness gadget it immediately has a positive effect on my exercise level. This is good, as I have received many new gadgets related to fitness each offering me something new. As I have to actually do some fitness training to use the gadgets, it’s a win! From memory I can recall getting an iPod Touch which made it possible for me to use Gyminee’s excellent web-app interface, getting an iPhone so I could use the web-app interface when I was a place that did not have wireless I could connect to (read: the work gym), then getting an iPhone 3G because my original iPhone stopped working, using my Garmin Forerrunner 305 with motionbased.com and later connect.garmin.com, selling my Forerunner 305 only to buy another Foreunner 305 and selling that one month later to buy my current GPS watch, the Forerunner 405 (Do I even have to mention that just a few weeks ago the new Forerunner 405CX was released?). And of course, trying out the GPS feature with the iMapMyRun application. Also, of course, the latest “gadget” I got was a pair of Sennheiser PMX-80 built-for-running headphones. Now I could go on, but since I imagine I have already lost 90% of the readers who embarked on reading this post, I will stop. Suffice to say I got a gadget craving that needs constant scratching!

main-11So I am very happy to find out (1). that I needed gyminee’s RSS feed in my reader and, perhaps more importantly, that (2) the Gyminee guys are working on exactly that! They’ve released two sneak preview’s. The FIRST (for me) was uninteresting but for the fact that is was under developmennt as it focused on the nutrition part, which is really designed for the US it seems. It will take a long time to setup and I’m just not THAT fitness minded to write down everything I eat (although the thought of having 3-6 month of such data to mine through sounds very appealing to the nerd in me – and let’s not forget, it’s the nerd in me that is driving the fitness persona in me!). The SECOND preview was much more intriguing to look at. It shows the fitness part of the applications and gives information that, YES, you can input data offline.

I’m really happy I found gyminee.com before it got popular (is it even know? I doubt it actually, but it’s great!). I even took advantage of an offer they ran back then so it only costs me $2.50/month to be a member – a very fair price….
