Copenhagen Marathon – how do you like them apples? (English)
July 1st, 2009 Posted in fitness, random
Now I have to admit I actually didn’t run, and rightly so, many of my contacts on facebook didn’t believe that I could have run among the 50 best out of the ~11000 running. My parents even called me, almost out of breath and crying asking “you didn’t run did you? you know you could DIE!!! You haven’t been training at all…you’ve done nada…zilch…nothing”. Gee, thanks mom! I actually DID train for the marathon, but too little too late, and I got an injury (tenovaginitis in my shin) and of course a bunch of other bullsh*t excuses
So how did I get registered with such a great time? I had my friend run it for a dinner af the fabulous eatery, Restaurant Klubben, on Vesterbro here in Copenhagen. It’s…..well….a classic Danish eatery..no fancy dishes, rude busy waitresses, large beers..it’s truly great place for a a warm Summer night. And so it was to become!
Tomorrow I will receive my “I completed Copenhagen Marathon” running shir, so I’ll have to start running again. It’ll look weird when I come running, wheezing, gasping for my breath like a 30+ cigarettes a day, morbidly obese, grossly out of shape guy wearing my “I completed Copenhagen Marathon”. People will naturally have to assume I’m running on the last couple of kilometers of my +40km training pass
I love it!!!
See you next year at the marathon…

Det vare altså også en dead giveaway, når dine tidligere handles alle var “mmm, lækker mad med sovs igen” og “spiser Julies gode sovs” osv. Ikke noget under, at du også synes du er blev småtyk…
