ipod-nano-redHow’s that for buildt quality? Not to many days ago I went for a run with my trusty iPod Nano from back when I lived in The Bay Area, California in 2006, and had to conclude my body’s overall fitness is miles and miles away from living up to my brains new years resolution from back in January of running a marathon. Back then was confident I would run the Copenhagen Marathon, but the result of that I wrote about here.

Anyway, the point of this post was not to highlight my failures, but the build quality of the iPod. I got a call at work the other day from Julie (<= wife to be…can I get a woot-w00000t!!!) who with a “I’m soooo sorry” voice procalimed she “might” have washed the iPod in the washer. Naturally I was excited..I mean c’mon, she had washed some of my clothes, which is like..”YEAH, I should marry this girl” right? So anyway, the defective iPod was considered a goner, but I didn’t care much, as I only use it for running, and that ain’t happening often enough for the iPod breaking being a full-on tragedy…

I did let it dry on the off-chance that it would work again. Then the other day I tried it, and lo and behold, it works!!! with no visible damage at all. Awesome, truly awesome! If only all gadgets were as study as my iPod. There’s a drawback though, I have one less excuse for why I’m not running as often as I should. You can’t win ‘em all.
